Monarch Butterfly Event Simi Valley There is really nothing like watching your kids look at a butterfly close up, so it's a good thing you can enjoy tons of butterfly/kid encounters at the Monarch Butterfly Event! It’s from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday, January 31st, at 1491 Mellow Lane, in Simi Valley. Being held by “This is a Monarchy”, there will be free fun for the entire family. Dine LA Week Various Locations Calling all foodie families, this is your weekend to chow down! It’s Dine LA Week now through February 1st and participating restaurants will have pre-fixe menus inspiring you to try new foods and places with your family. They can help you find some new amazing dishes in a cool atmosphere, and the only thing you have to worry about is keeping your kids from yelling “This is YUCKY” at the top of their lungs. Thomas and Friends at the Discovery Cube LA Sylmar If you say “Thomas the Train” to a 4-year old, you will see a bigger smile than if you said Elmo was waiting at the door with cookies and a bubble machine. So take those little train lovers to the new Discovery Cube LA for the Thomas and Friends Display and let explore all the inhabitants of the mythical island of Sodor. Skirball Center & Others Free-For-All Various Locations Need a good excuse to head to the Skirball Center this weekend? Well, it’s free on Saturday, January 31st. Good motivation, right? In fact, that isn’t the only museum that’s free this weekend, most major ones in LA are participating including the Getty Center, Hammer Museum, LACMA, Paley Center, and the Page Museum at the La Brea Tar Pits. Sustainability Fair And Recycling Event Oak Park You want to think green, right? Running out of good ideas on how to stay eco-friendly? Help is available to you at the Oak Park High School Super Saturday event. It’s being held on Saturday, January 31 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM on the Oak Park High School Great Lawn for our annual celebration of the environment. The event will feature a tide pool tank, rainforest animals, birds of prey, and even goats! Plus learn how to garden organically at the 11:00 AM workshop.
